Hagerstown resident Jane Ellen Campbell, 35, pleaded guilty to assisting John Balch, of Jacksonville, who admitted to sexually exploiting children, including prepubescent minors.

According to Campbell's plea agreement, she met Balch in 2007 and in recent years, she has driven other women to have sex with him in hotels when she trekked from Maryland to his Florida home.

Beginning in 2017, Balch also began asking Campbell on multiple occasions to send him nude photos of a girl who was 9 years old at the time, which she did three times between January and March 2017 until Balch began conversing with the child directly.

During the scheme, prosecutors say that she was paid $3,245 between November 2020 and August 2022.

Campbell pleaded guilty this week to distribution of child pornography.

She faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 year sand max of 20 years in federal prison for "distributing visual depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct."

When she is released, Campbell will also be required to register as a sex offender wherever she works, studies, or lives.
